closet-racists like to claim that they’d be totally fine and dandy with traditionally white characters being portrayed by actors of color whilst they’re casually dismissing the prevalence of white-washing in hollywood. hate to break it to you, but that is NOT the typical response that actors of color receive, and if you can’t acknowledge that, then you’re only adding to the problem.
remember that time hunger games fans flipped their shit because rue, who IS actually black in the books, was rightfully cast as black in the film? apparently their rose-colored white-is-default glasses made their eyes gloss over that tidbit of info. (let’s not even get wholeheartedly into the fact that katniss was described as having olive skin and jet black hair but her casting call specifically asked for only white actresses…because non-whites could never be expected to have dark hair and tan skin amirite?!)
remember that time people actually boycotted thor because idris elba was in it? http://www.comicsalliance.com/2010/12/16/racists-thor-idris-ebla-racism/
remember that time donald glover got hoards of letters calling him the n-word because there were rumors about him possibly being the new spiderman?  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lgko-xReFSs
or that time the film adaptation of avatar: the last airbender (a show with OBVIOUS asian inspiration) was almost an entirely caucasian cast except for the “bad guy”, who, in the cartoon is actually light-skinned?                                      http://io9.com/5111680/avatar-casting-makes-fans-see-white
or remember that time all those fans said it was wrong to have angel coulby play the role of gwen in merlin because it wasn’t era-appropriate. because, ya know, being era-appropriate in a made-up story about magic is srs bsns.
so that’s why i don’t give a shit if you think i’m “overreacting” about jj abrams having a white actor play khan noonien singh. i’m not that surprised by it, since actors of color are routinely dismissed, but i still reserve the right to be pissed.

I hate that I’m being sucked into this drama, but I will defend myself. Yes, I know Naya is also black, and I’m not ‘racist’ I’ve dated a black guy myself. I should’ve explained myself better though. What I meant was since being with Sean, he’s starting to rub off on her. Again, I know she’s black, but I don’t recall her ever using poor grammar in her tweets before, that’s all I’m saying. Enough with calling her fans ‘racist’ just because not everyone likes him. I don’t like his personality, or music, his fans do, and that’s fine whatever. Everyone has posted their opinions about him good or bad, I don’t agree with all, but I ‘ignore’ them, and it works both ways. if you don’t like mine, then by all means ‘ignore’ but don’t call me ‘racist’ or anyone else who shares my opinion.

Sean graduated high school with a 3.7 gpa and a full ride to college. So…. yeah your argument? Moot. Try again. Oh and dating black doesn’t not make you racist. Just saying.

“Starting to rub off on her”
That phrase, is racist, because you’re implying that THERE’S SOMETHING WRONG WITH BEING BLACK.
You’re implying that there’s something offensive with being “too black” (as if thats not offensive enough) and Naya for having that “rub off on her.”
So yeah, you are racist as fuck. And having dated someone black doesn’t mean you’re not a racist.
Try again.

Bolding by me. When someone says this, it’s just time to abandon ship. It’s only going to get all sad from then on.

No I’m not implying anything. When being around another person all the time, you start to pick up things, like their behavior. Sean’s grammar in his tweets are the same, that’s what I said. If you don’t like my posts, then ‘ignore’ them

Oh, LOL. I literally stopped reading at “I’m not racist I’ve dated a Black guy myself”. That phrase, along with “my Black friend” is always the precursor to racist bullshit. I didn’t even bother with the rest of your statement. I mean I literally stopped reading at that point. I didn’t figure the rest of the statement got any better. *kanye shrug*

It’s hilarious because she’s trying to say just ignore my racist opinion, as if she gets that right.
The only right you’re afforded if the right to your opinion.
Not the right to be free of criticism. I don’t have to ignore anything.
All I have to do is stay black and die.

I’m amused because I still haven’t read the rest of the statement.

OP girl bye

More tips:

  • The closest I could find on Amazon to the watercolour set I use is the Sakura brand of Koi Assorted WaterColours Field Set.
  • Just use any old toothbrush. I used to use the ones that my dentist would give me after a visit, just because those were kind of cheap and I wouldn’t actually use them anyways.
  • I use acrylic for flicking and highlights because watercolour-whites tend to fade when they dry.
  • Also, remember to keep your hands clean, because nothing’s worse than smudging graphite into your watercolours and then unable to get it out.
  • Try to avoid black and white when possible. They tend to dull the colours and it loses that watercolouring lustre.

Since I started watercolouring again for my daily sketches, I’ve gotten a lot of asks/dA notes on if I could give a tutorial on watercolouring and also more specific questions that overlapped each other, so I decided to do a semi guide/tips/answering thing.

I actually started watercolouring before I went into digital medium, so I have a bit of personal experience, but I am essentially self-taught when it comes to watercolouring since there weren’t a lot of watercolour tutorials online back then to begin with, so I cannot promise that these are the absolute correct way of doing things.

Hope it helps anyways :)

“Lilo and Stitch” 2002

Deleted Scene

Lilo plays a trick on the tourists.

IF YOU LIVED HERE YOU’D UNDERSTAND

I desperately need to understand

WHY

WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY

Was this scene cut from the movie??!!

Fucking christ, do you know what this would have done? What this would have meant to SO MANY people??  The truth of this is devastating. And to think it almost found it’s way into a DISNEY film??

The inclusion of this scene alone would have made it the greatest animated feature the company ever produced. Easily. And if you think that’s hyperbolic clearly you don’t understand.

No, really, if anyone knows why this was cut PLEASE let me know.

oh man WHY WOULD they cut this, this is so great, holy MOLY

It was clearly something the crew was very reluctant to get rid of if it made it all the way to rough-clean (and in a few scenes clean!), fully inbetweened animation. That is like, thousands and thousands of dollars and weeks (months?!) of labour. Maybe a reluctant producer decided they would alienate their white middle-class American audiences by making them feel “too guilty” and pressed them to drop it? It’s unfortunate, it’s one of the most honest accounts of racism in a Disney movie (which is why it’s believable that someone got uncomfortable and made a case to get it chopped)

Designing entertainment by committee for maximum marketability is probably the most heartbreaking process in Hollywood.

I’ve been seeing this around my dash and think it deserves some more recognition!

This shit is hilarious, too.

NO WAIT SHIT

I GET IT NOW

I GET WHY SHE WAS PHOTOGRAPHING TOURISTS AS A HOBBY

SHE WAS BEING FUCKING SATIRICAL AND OBJECTIFYING

IT’S NOT BECAUSE SHE’S A DUMB KID WITH A WEIRD HOBBY IT’S BECAUSE THEY DO THAT TO HER AND HER FRIENDS AND FAMILY LIKE SHE’S SOME KIND OF FUCKING THEME PARK CHARACTER AND SHE WANTS THEM TO KNOW HOW IT FEELS

HOLY FUCKING DICKS DISNEY WHY WOULD YOU CUT THIS
